AIT Dublin: Monarch not bullish on frequent flyer programmes

Monarch Airlines commercial director Jochen Schnadt said (11-Apr-2013) at CAPA's Airlines in Transition conference in Dublin that the carrier was not bullish on frequent flyer programmes given the focus of Monarch, like easyJet, on the leisure market that does not fly often. Mr Schnadt said a frequent flyer programme without frequent flyers "has no value". This compares to large and successful programmes like Qantas' where members travel often and also have numerous non-airline earning opportunities.
