AIT Dublin: Aer Lingus and IAG do not favour government ownership of airlines

IAG CEO Willie Walsh and Aer Lingus CEO Christoph Mueller at CAPA's Airlines in Transition conference in Dublin remarked (12-Apr-2013) they do not favour government ownership of airlines. Mr Walsh said governments do not make partners when change is constantly necessary. Mr Mueller said the Irish government's stake in Aer Lingus is not a long-term solution, but that complete privatisation cannot happen overnight.
