Airbus receives net orders for 118 aircraft in year to July

Airbus received net orders of 118 aircraft in the seven months to Jul-2009, with 22 aircraft cancellations (including three A318s, three A319s, five A320s, four A321s, one non-commercial A330-200 and five A350-800s) and 140 aircraft orders, boosted by an agreement for 40 A320s by Wizz Air. Airbus delivered 34 aircraft during Jul-2009 (including 27 A320 Family aircraft) and 288 aircraft in the seven-month period, including three A380s to Singapore Airlines and a fourth to Emirates. Airbus stated it hopes to at least match the record 483 aircraft deliveries of 2008 and stated it expects to deliver ten more A380s this year. However, the manufacturer predicts a reduction in gross orders to "up to 300" in 2009. Airbus had 900 gross orders and 777 net orders in 2008.
