Airbus starts final assembly of first A330neo at Toulouse facility

Airbus commenced (27-Sep-2016) final assembly of its first A330neo. The A330-900 is being assembled in Toulouse, with the joining of the wings to the centre fuselage. Airbus head A330neo programme Odile Jubécourt said the A330neo is "right on time" despite having started "with a very tight development schedule". The A330neo offers up to 14% per seat fuel burn reduction and an additional 400nm in range, compared to the current A330. To date, 10 customers have ordered a total of 186 A330neo aircraft.
