Air Zimbabwe suspended by IATA

IATA has suspended Air Zimbabwe from international financial and flight booking services, stating it is to "immediately stop all ticketing and refund transactions" (IOL, 16-May-2011). Air Zimbabwe, already crippled by two pilot strikes in the past six months, owed IATA USD280,000 in unpaid worldwide billing and ticketing fees. The carrier stated (15-May-2011) it has "already engaged IATA to negotiate a payment plan".
