Air France-KLM considers order of 80-100 Boeing and Airbus aircraft; eyeing A350s and B787s

Air France-KLM Vice Chairman and KLM CEO, Peter Hartman, stated the carrier is considering an order for 80-100 new aircraft and expects to receive proposals from Airbus and Boeing by the end of 2010 (Dow Jones, 22-Jun-2010). The carrier is reportedly considering A350 and B787 equipment, to replace its long-haul fleet from 2015. Mr Hartman added that he opposes efforts by manufacturers to increase the range of single-aisle aircraft with new engines and other improvements as opposed to developing an all-new design, stating: "I think re-engineering is not the answer."
