Afghanistan’s third international airport to open 2012

NATO stated Afghanistan's third international airport is scheduled for completion in Jan-2012, which NATO expects will serve more than 400,000 passengers p/a (BNO News, 09-Dec-2010). Mazar-e Sharif International Airport will be located in the Balkh Province in northern Afghanistan and is part of a development project to bring five international airports to Afghanistan and assist locals with trade and transporting goods throughout the country.
