Aerolienas Argentinas and Austral route and frequency expansion plans for 2014
Aerolineas Argentinas and Austral confirmed (08-Nov-2013) plans for a 22% year-on-year increase in operations and 26% year-on-year increase in seats in 2014 "to improve connectivity and integration and contribute to the economic and social development of the country." The following domestic routes are planned for launch between Jan-2014 and Mar-2014:
- Buenos Aires Aeroparque-Mendoza-Cordoba-Jujuy;
- Buenos Aires Aeroparque-Trelew-Viedma-Buenos Aires Aeroparque;
- Buenos Aires Aeroparque-San Rafael-Santa Rosa-Buenos Aires Aeroparque;
- Buenos Aires Aeroparque-Parana;
- Buenos Aires Ezeiza-Bariloche-Mendoza;
- Buenos Aires Ezeiza-Bariloche-Calafate;
- Buenos Aires Ezeiza-Bariloche-Cordoba;
The following international routes are planned:
- Buenos Aires Aeroparque-Salvador from 01-Jan-2014;
- Buenos Aires Ezeiza-Florianopolis from 01-Jan-2014;
- Buenos Aires-Santa Cruz (Bolivia) from 01-Mar-2014, with one daily service from Ezeiza and one daily service from Aeroparque;
- Buenos Aires-Porto Alegre from 01-Mar-2014, with one daily service from Ezeiza and one daily service from Aeroparque;
- Buenos Aires-Curitiba from 01-Mar-2014, unspecified whether from Ezeiza or Aeroparque;
The following frequency increases are planned:
- Buenos Aires-Caracas, increase to daily service from Apr-2014;
- Buenos Aires-Barcelona, increase to daily service from 01-Jul-2014;
- Buenos Aires-Rome, increase to daily service from 01-Jul-2014.
To meet the service increases, an expanded fleet and increase to monthly flying hours are planned, with monthly hours to increase from 21,161 in 2013 to 24,078 hours per month in 2014. The carriers plan to operate a record 130 daily departures from Aeroparque in 2014. [more - original PR - Spanish]
