AENA restructuring results in 23.1% EBIDTA increase in 2012; to be privatised "this year"

AENA's restructuring resulted (24-Jan-2013) in a 23.1% year-on-year EBITDA increase in 2012 to EUR1.3 billion, according to Spain's Development Minister Ana Pastor. The restructuring involved the "rationalisation of investments", organisational reform, an "airport efficiency plan" and a sales and marketing plan to increase commercial revenues, highlighted by the recent awards for duty free concessions at AENA airports. Ms Pastor also reiterated that AENA would be privatised "this year", and noted AENA plans to launch an individual marketing and business development to optimise revenues.
