AENA could see EUR373m profit in 2013 and EUR436m profit in 2014: report

Spain's AENA could see a 16.5% year-on-year increase in profit to EUR373 million by the end of 2013 and a profit of EUR436 million profit in 2014, according to Spain's Draft State Budget and as reported by Europa Press. AENA lost EUR68 million in 2012 and the profit would result from the operator's efficiency plan which is intended to save EUR100 million, as well as measures such as a reduction in operating hours at airports serving less than 500,000 passengers p/a. A number of tenders were also issue, including parking operations, security and luxury retail tenders, as well as ground handling licences.
