AAPA airlines passenger numbers up 5% in Oct-2011, cargo traffic down 7.7%

Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) reports (24-Nov-2011) the following international traffic highlights for its member airlines in Oct-2011:

  • Passenger numbers: 16.4 million, +5% year-on-year;
  • Passenger load factor: 76.4%, -2.7 ppts;
  • Cargo traffic (FTKs): -7.7%;

AAPA: "Asian airlines are continuing to benefit from relatively strong economic growth in developing economies across the region, but airline margins have been squeezed by sharply higher fuel prices this year.
