AAI provided budget support of USD62m

Airports Authority of India (AAI) has been provided with budgetary support of INR2.8 billion (USD62 million) as part of the Union Budget for 2011/12, of which INR934.8 million (USD20.7 million) has been allocated to develop airports in the remote north-east (IANS, 28-Feb-2011). Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee allocated a total of INR90.7 billion (USD2.0 billion) to the civil aviation sector, which includes INR3.7 billion (USD82.3 million) in unplanned and INR17 billion (USD376.7 million) in planned expenditure.
