AACO reports 5% rise in international pax

Arab Air Carriers Organisation (AACO) reported international passenger numbers to, from and within the Arab world rose 4.9% year-on-year on the back of a 12.1% increase in seat capacity in Jan-2011 and following a 5.7% growth in Dec-2010. In Jan-2011, Arab airlines increased their seat capacity to, from and within the Arab world by 12.1% while other airlines increased their seat capacity by 7.0%.

  • International passenger numbers: +4.9% year-on-year;
    • Between Arab and Americas: -12.9%;
    • Between Arab and Europe: +0.6%;
    • Between Arab and Mid Asia: +0.4%;
    • Between Arab and Far East and Australia: +13.7%;
    • Between Arab and Sub-Saharan Africa: +23.0%.
