11-Jul-2013 Parsons is pleased to announce that the City and County of San Francisco Airport Commission has awarded T1 Partners, a joint venture in which Parsons is the managing partner, a contract to provide program management services for the Terminal 1 Redevelopment Program at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) in California. Under the 10-year program, T1 Partners will deliver program management, planning, design management, and construction support services.

The $2 billion program consists of renovating Terminal 1 as well as demolishing and replacing Boarding Area B. Improvements will include 18 to 24 new aircraft gates, new consolidated passenger-screening checkpoints, new airline ticket counters, new concession facilities, a new consolidated common-use baggage handling system and checked baggage-screening system, and programwide seismic upgrades. Temporary facilities will be constructed to keep 10 aircraft gates in operation during the redevelopment of Boarding Area B. Following the opening of Boarding Area B, the interior of Boarding Area C will be remodeled. The facilities provided under the program will be built in accordance with LEED Gold standards.

"Parsons has a long and successful work history with SFO," said Todd Wager, Parsons Group President. "We understand the importance of collaboration and partnering with the Airport, and T1 Partners' goal is to achieve an exceptional program outcome for SFO and all of its stakeholders."

The Airport Commission selected T1 Partners because of the team's experience managing major terminal programs of similar size and complexity; extensive alternative delivery experience, specifically for design-build projects; and familiarity with SFO's policies and procedures as well as those of the City and County of San Francisco. The Terminal 1 Redevelopment Program is scheduled to begin this summer with final program completion by 2023.
