02-Oct-2012 Multi-year agreement includes ancillaries in Sabre GDS

Qantas Airways and Sabre Travel Network, a global technology company serving travel agencies and suppliers, have renewed their distribution agreement, signing a long-term, global full content distribution system (GDS) deal, which includes the airline's advance seat selection ancillary.

Additionally, Sabre-connected agencies will continue to access all of Qantas' published fares, schedules and inventory including those sold through the airline's website.

"We are pleased to reach this agreement and look forward to strengthening our long term relationship," said Qantas Executive General Manager Domestic Sales, Distribution and Marketing Stephen Limbrick.

"Sabre was the first GDS to introduce Branded Fares merchandising with Qantas in 2007, so we are particularly delighted to announce the continuation of this agreement," said Hans Belle, Vice President and General Manager APAC for Sabre.

With this renewal, Qantas Airways is among more than 400 airlines that use the Sabre GDS to sell their products and services, including ancillaries, globally.
