Concerns are surfacing in Barcelona about the interest from Iberia for the city’s El Prat airport after the merger with British Airways (BA). The president of the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona, Miquel Valls, has expressed his doubts about the words of Iberia’s president, Fernando Conte, who stated that the airline that will emerge from the ‘fusion’ with British Airways will promote Barcelona Airport, suggesting instead that its priority will be the abandonment of El Prat, at the very least the discontinuation of its most important routes there.
