The UAE's General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) is one of the most proactive aviation authorities in the region, although, given the success and strength of the nation's three largest carriers (Emirates, Air Arabia and Etihad Airways) it is hardly surprising. The UAE will need to absorb significantly more aircraft and passenger traffic over the next two decades as its ambitious carriers expand their fleets and networks.
