Tiger aims to be the Ryanair of Asia

SYDNEY (Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation) - Tiger Airways CEO, Tony Davis, forecasts 3 million passengers in 2006 and 4-5 million in 2007, attributed to its planned fleet and network expansion. The airline carried 500,000 passengers in its first year of operations. Tiger Airways is also seeking JV partners in neighbouring countries. The airline has no current plans for an IPO.

"It is early days and we are looking at a number of options. Our business model is very clear, to be the Ryanair of Asia," CEO, Tony Davis.
