Thai Airways raises domestic fares, Korean Air and Asiana higher

6-Apr-2010

A handful of Asian stock markets were open for trading yesterday, with Thai Airways (+3.7%) leading the way.

Thai Airways has increased its domestic fares (for the first time since Dec-2006) by an average of 35%, effective 01-Apr-2010. The increase also reflects the fact that Thai is including fuel and insurance surcharges in the ticket price, to meet new Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) requirements.

Elsewhere, Asiana Airlines advanced 2.3% and Korean Air gained 1% as the South Korean share index (the Kospi) moved slightly higher yesterday to a fresh 21-month closing high.

Asia Pacific selected airlines daily share price movements (% change): 05-Apr-2010
