Southwest focusing on improving revenues and cutting costs in 2Q2010, but economic concerns persist

Southwest Chief Financial Officer Laura Wright, speaking at the Bank of America Merrill Lynch Global Transportation conference in New York yesterday, reported the company was looking at improving revenue and costs for the second quarter, reflecting a generally bullish feeling about the economy. However, even as she reported results that are vastly improved from last year, she cautioned that the economic challenges are many, including high unemployment.
