SYDNEY (Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation) - Shanghai Hongqiao Airport announced plans to undertake an expansion project, including the construction of a new terminal and runway by 2010, subject to CAAC approval.

Shanghai Pudong Airport is currently undergoing a major expansion, including the development of a new terminal with capacity for 40 million passengers annually.
