RAK Airways suspends all scheduled services

Premium Analysis

The aviation ambitions of the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah received another setback with the suspension of all scheduled services by RAK Airways in Dec-08, after its fleet was reduced to one aircraft. The carrier, which commenced operations in 2007, also made 60 employees redundant in Nov-08 (reducing its workforce to 70), prior to suspending services. The carrier previously operated to Sophia, Beirut, Calicut, Kozhikode, Chittagong and Dhaka.
