Passenger traffic growth at Xiamen and Shanghai leads the way: Airport Share Wrap
Shares in China's Xiamen Airport led the way up yesterday, with a strong 5.5% gain. The airport had the second largest increase in passenger numbers in Jan-2010 of the CAAC East China Regional Administration's member airports.
Xiamen's passenger numbers were up 22.7% year-on-year to 993,499, while cargo volumes were 24.8% higher at 14,711 tonnes, compared to Jan-2009.
Shanghai Pudong Airport reported the highest increase in passenger numbers in the month, reporting a 28.3% year-on-year increase to 2.9 million passengers. The airport's 44.3% year-on-year increase in cargo volumes to 200,500 tonnes was also the most rapid growth of the grouping. Meanwhile, passenger traffic at Shanghai Hongqiao Airport dipped 1.6%, while cargo volumes jumped 5.8% in Jan-2010. Shares in Shanghai Airport closed 1.5% higher yesterday.
