Mumbai Airport's overall passenger traffic continues upward, but international disappoints

Passenger traffic continued to improve at Mumbai Chattrapati Shivaji International Airport in Aug-2009, rising 8.1% year-on-year, to 2.05 million passengers. Domestic traffic led the way with a sixth consecutive monthly improvement, rising a creditable 17.5%, to 1.39 million passengers. International traffic, meanwhile, continues to lag and was down 7.1%, to 662,118 passengers. The increase was achieved on the back of an overall growth in air traffic movements of 4.9% over the month.
