Mexican airports suffer, Fraport, AdP, Copenhagen lower

Analysis

Mexico's airport operators extended recent share price losses, with OMA (-8.3%), GAP (-7.2%) and ASUR (-7.0%) all sold heavily on 14-Jan-09. Stock markets across Latin American tumbled as investors reached to a larger than expected fall in US retail sales in Dec-08. Mexico ships approximately 80% of total exports to the US.

Mexico's benchmark IPC index fell 3.2% and Brazil's benchmark Ibovespa stock index dropped 4%

Elsewhere, airport stocks suffered in Europe, with Aeroports de Paris (-4.6%) and Fraport (-3.8%) falling in line with the broader Paris and German stock indexes. Copenhagen Airports shares eased 4.4%.
