Lufthansa top airline in Capital readers’ survey

Analysis

Frankfurt (LUFTHANSA) - Readers of the reputed German business magazine Capital have voted Lufthansa the best airline in European and regional traffic. Lufthansa was ranked first on European routes, while Lufthansa CityLine was the outright winner on regional routes. More than 2,200 readers took part in the survey on airline quality. Marks were awarded for bonus programmes, punctuality, service, value for money, inflight catering, seating comfort and feeling of security. The outcome of the poll once again underscores Lufthansa's outstanding role as a leading quality airline offering premium services.

"We invest in quality for our customers, on board and on the ground. Lufthansa stands for mobility à la carte," explains Thierry Antinori, Executive Vice President Marketing and Sales, Lufthansa German Airlines. Lufthansa passengers can select the offer that suits them best - ranging from the favourably priced BetterFly fare for 99 euros through to premium services such as the Lufthansa Private Jet and the First Class Terminal.

As the Capital survey shows, Lufthansa received top marks for its service on board and on the ground. On European routes, Lufthansa is setting standards with its new, updated cabin interiors. A contemporary design, new ergonomic seating with more legroom and an empty middle seat in Business Class ensure a more comfortable inflight experience. Processes on the ground have also been optimised and tailored more closely to customer needs. When it comes to check-in, passengers can opt for personal service at the counter or for the flexible, time-saving, self-service Quick Check-in terminals. Lufthansa passengers will soon be able to make all their travel preparations from the comfort of their own homes with the "Homeprint Boarding Pass".

In this latest survey, Lufthansa also succeeded in establishing itself among the leading airlines on long-haul routes. This year Capital ranked Lufthansa fifth, up from eighth place last year.
