Kenya Airways launches Nairobi-Luanda service;TENARIS to establish facility at Lonrhos Luba Freeport

Kenya Airways shares gained slightly on Thursday (19-Aug-2010). The carrier also confirmed the commencement of twice weekly Nairobi-Luanda service on 17-Aug-2010. Kenya Airways will operate the route on a codeshare agreement with Angolan Airlines (TAAG). The route is the carrier's 50th destination globally and 41st in Africa.

Lonhro (0%) announced the non-aviation related TENARIS has agreed to establish a logistics facility at the Luba Freeport in Equatorial Guinea. Luba Freeport is a joint venture between Lonrho and GEPetrol, the National Oil Company of Equatorial Guinea, and has been established to handle oil field supply vessels and ocean-going ships serving the West African region.

Middle East shares were mostly stable with Kuwait National Airways (-3%) down while Air Arabia, Royal Jordanian and Jazeera Airways all remained steady.
