Italy's Prime Minister-elect, Silvio Berlusconi, has given his blessing to reported plans by American billionaire, George Soros, to buy football club, AS Roma, stating “if someone comes in who can make the fans happy by strengthening the squad, he's more than welcome”. (AS Roma is a rival to the Berlusconi-owned AC Milan. The incoming Prime Minister is however stepping down as AC Milan Club President, saying the two roles are “incompatible”).
