Iberia offers flights under code share with the new Vueling airline

Analysis

With the completion on 09-Jul-2009 of the merger between the clickair and Vueling carriers, Iberia's IB500 series flights formerly operated under a code share with clickair will now be operated by Vueling.

Vueling will now have a fleet of 35 aircraft serving 45 destinations in Spain, Europe and North Africa. This means Iberia clients can now fly directly to more European cities, with more flight frequencies, and more seats on IB5000 series flights.

While most IB5000 series flights will operate on the same schedule as previously, flight numbers may be changed, so starting on July 9 Iberia will automatically change and revalidate the tickets affected, and nothing will be required of passengers holding them.

Passengers on IB5000 series flights can choose seats and obtain boarding cards in advance via the on-line auto check-in service on www.iberia.com from 7 days before the flight until 2 hours prior to the scheduled departure time.

Iberia's auto check-in machines at airport will continue to issue boarding cards for IB5000, starting 4 hours prior to the scheduled departure time.

Passengers holding IB5000 series tickets who choose to check in at airport counters should visit the Vueling counter between 2 hours and 40 minutes before the scheduled departure time. After July 9 Vueling will operate from Terminal 2B in Barcelona-El Prat airport.

Passengers on IB5000 flights operated by Vueling can earn and spend Iberia Plus points on the same terms as previously. Club Fiesta members and holders of Iberia Plus Platinum or Gold cards may use Iberia VIP lounges and will have free parking in Madrid and Barcelona, as they did before.
