Hyderabad Airport reports fall in passenger traffic

Premium Analysis

Andhra Pradesh State Government announced the new Hyderabad Rajiv Gandhi International Airport is currently handling an average 16,400 passengers per day, which is less than the previous Hyderabad Begumpet Airport's 17,400 passengers per day. The government attributes the fall in traffic to an increase in fuel prices (leading to higher fares) and poor road connectivity to the new airport, which is prompting would-be passengers to use alternative methods of transport.
