a memorandum of understanding to buy 51 planes from Airbus worth a total of
5.5 bln usd at list prices, the companies announced.
"Hong Kong Airlines, the fastest growing airline in Hong Kong, has become Airbus's latest customer by signing a memorandum of understanding for 51 Airbus aircraft," a joint statement said.
The order, the latest of many multi-billion-dollar deals revealed by Airbus this week at the Paris Air Show, is for 30 single-aisle A320 aircraft, 20 long-haul A330s and an Airbus corporate jet.
"Our new A320 fleet will allow us to add new destinations and build up frequencies on our existing services," Hong Kong Airlines' chairman Ren Wei Dong said.
