Hawaiian Airlines' shares bounce back, TAM and JetBlue soar, GOL down – SHARE WRAP
Hawaiian Airlines' shares recovered much of Tuesday's 7.8% fall with a 6.5% bounce yesterday, as the carrier reported Mar-2009 passenger numbers soared 17.7% to 716,320.
GOL's shares reversed Tuesday's 4.1% gain with a 2.1% fall yesterday, as the airline reported a 16.1% reduction in passenger traffic (RPKs) last month and a further 2.2 ppts reduction in load factor to a lowly 54.9%.
GOL's pain is LAN and TAM's gain. LAN Airlines' shares rose 2.8% as the carrier unveiled a 7.6% increase in RPKs last month. TAM's shares also roared up 7.1%, adding to Tuesday's 3.9% gain.
JetBlue's shares also performed well yesterday, rising 6%, as US carriers generally outperformed the 0.6% rise in the Dow Jones.
