Good weather and passenger growth drive Vienna’s 1Q07 financial results

Premium Analysis

The

Flughafen Wien Group (Vienna Airport) reported a strong 7.1% year-on-year rise

in EBITDA for the three months ended 31-Mar-07. Interestingly, growth in EBITDA

was primarily driven by a drop in the cost of materials and services (-18.0%),

due to a reduction in the use of de-icing materials as a consequence of warmer

weather, as well as excellent passenger traffic results (+9.4%), which led to

a 3.9% rise in revenue.
