Global airport shares mixed on Friday

Analysis

Airport shares were led lower on Friday by Indian conglomerates GMR Infrastructure (-5.9%) and GVK Power & Infrastructure (-4.4%).

Over the weekend, GMR Group announced plans to divest its shareholding in InterGen NV, a Netherlands-based power generation company, for USD1.23 billion, to improve its balance sheet and divert funds to support Indian power projects.

European airport stocks generally rose, led by Florence Airport (+4.2%) and Vienna Airport (+1.5%).

Duty free sector stocks were mixed, with Lotte and Dufry falling 1.4% and Stefanel gaining 4.4%.
