Dubai's Emirates orders 42 B777s

Analysis

DUBAI (XFNews) - Dubai's flag carrier, Emirates, announced a new order for 42 long-haul Boeing 777 aircraft valued at USD9.7 billion.

The deal with the US aircraft manufacturer was announced at the opening of the Dubai Air Show.

Boeing and its European rival Airbus are fighting tooth-and-nail to sell jets to carriers in Middle East, the fastest growing market in the world, that has been largely unaffected by surging fuel prices and terror threats.
