Delta deals on the Atlantic, but US airlines on a downward spiral

Delta Air Lines and Air France have reached an agreement that

will see them share costs and revenues on the Atlantic and increase competition

at London Heathrow Airport. It is a further step by Delta into the international

market and part of a general awakening by some US carriers that there is a market

outside the US that is potentially much more fruitful than the domestic one.
