Cathay hits new record highs

Cathay Pacific shares surged 3.1% to all-time highs yesterday

as the carrier unveiled a 55% lift in first half net profit to a new interim

record level. Chairman, Christopher Pratt, stated the airline is in “good

shape”. Synergies continue to flow from Cathay’s acquisition last

year of Dragonair, while the cargo market is expected to improve in the second

half of 2007 following a weak start to the year.
