Cathay hits new record highs
Cathay Pacific shares surged 3.1% to all-time highs yesterday
as the carrier unveiled a 55% lift in first half net profit to a new interim
record level. Chairman, Christopher Pratt, stated the airline is in “good
shape”. Synergies continue to flow from Cathay’s acquisition last
year of Dragonair, while the cargo market is expected to improve in the second
half of 2007 following a weak start to the year.
