Amadeus takes steps to ensure access to airline inventory for travel agents

Analysis

Amadeus, a world leader in global travel distribution and technology, today announced that it has taken steps to ensure access to airline inventory for its travel agents.

Amadeus, a world leader in global travel distribution and technology, today announced that it has taken steps to ensure access to airline inventory for its travel agents. Specifically, Amadeus has entered into an agreement with Sabre Holdings that enables Amadeus customers to complete bookings on an airline in the unlikely event of that airline withdrawing from participation in Amadeus. Amadeus will offer the same back-up for Sabre.

The agreement is designed to ensure continued broad and seamless travel agency access to airline inventory and avoid disruptions that might otherwise develop. This will in turn allow travellers that rely on Amadeus travel agents secure access to the range of available travel options.

Amadeus is continually looking for ways to enhance the services and benefits that it provides to its travel agency customers, and this new agreement is part of that effort.
