Airbus China plant to be completed by year's end - report

Beijing (XFN-ASIA) - The Airbus assembly plant in Tianjin,

its first such facility outside Europe, is expected to be completed by the end

of the year, the Shanghai Securities News reported.

The newspaper quoted Tianjin mayor Dai Xianglong as saying that about 700 mln yuan has been invested in infrastructure for the plant to date.

Airbus has a 51 pct stake in the assembly facility, with total investment expected to be five bln yuan, rising to 8-10 bln eventually.
Airbus said earlier last year that first deliveries from the plant are due in 2008, and by 2011 the plant will have the capacity to assemble four aircraft per month.
