AirAsia shares fall on traffic report

AirAsia's shares fell 1.1% yesterday following the release of group traffic highlights for the three months ended Mar-2011

The 1Q2011 traffic results were as follows:

  • Malaysia AirAsia:
    • Passenger numbers: 4.3 million, +17.2% year-on-year;
    • Load factor: 80%, +8.6 ppts;
    • Fleet size: 53, +10.4%;
  • Thai AirAsia:
    • Passenger numbers: 1.8 million, +22.7%;
    • Load factor: 84%, +4.6 ppts;
    • Fleet size: 20, stable;
  • Indonesia AirAsia:
    • Passenger numbers: 1.1 million, +22.4%;
    • Load factor: 79%, +8.8 ppts;
    • Fleet size: 20, +33.3%.

Elsewhere, Tiger Airways' shares slipped 0.7% and Cebu Pacific fell 1.1%.
