Air France sources EUR1 billion credit line

Air France will gain access to a EUR1 billion credit line, organised through its Societe Air France unit. The five-year revolving credit line which will be used for general corporate purposes and to refinance a EUR1.2 billion credit line signed in 2005.

Societe Air France has mandated Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi-UFJ, BNP Paribas, Credit Agricole CIB, Credit Mutuel CIC, HSBC France, Natixis, Royal Bank of Scotland and Societe Generale SA to arrange the facility. Shares in Air France-KLM finished 1.9% lower on Friday.

airberlin has announced it expects to return to profitable operation in 2012 "at the latest", as its benefits from its entry into the oneworld alliance. The company is in talks with candidates who could fill a new post on its management board and may consider hiring people from outside Germany for the position. airberlin shares dropped 1.5% at the end of the week.

easyJet reported the following traffic highlights in Feb-2011:

  • Passenger numbers: 3.8 million, +13.1% year-on-year;
  • Passenger load factor: 86.4%, +1.1 ppts.
