Air France-KLM, easyJet and Air Berlin lose ground while Aegean, Eurofly up again

Analysis

Aegean Airlines (+3.6%) shares again rose, seemingly remorselessly after a brief blip the previous day. The carrier is enjoying a strong ride, following announcement of its admission to Star Alliance. Another market darling, Eurofly (+3.5%) also moved up again.

Air France-KLM (-2.8%) and easyJet (-2.7%) were the main falls yesterday and Air Berlin (-5.7%) shares fell again on its share issue, announced the previous day. The carrier issued 4.5 million new ordinary shares "under exclusion of the pre-emptive rights of Air Berlin's existing shareholders…ranking pari passu with the outstanding ordinary shares."

Otherwise, European airline investors did not seem to suffer the same concerns about the industry as did their American counterparts later in the day.
