10-Mar-2008

Paris (Thomson Financial) - Jean-Cyril Spinetta, the head of Air France, intends to retire from his post in October while remaining chairman and CEO of the Air France-KLM holding company, Le Figaro reported Saturday.

Spinetta will be 65 by this October and will have been head of Air France for almost 10 years. He may be replaced by Pierre-Henri Gourgeon, Air France's chief operating officer, Le Figaro reported. Contacted by Agence-France Presse, Air France said it doesn't comment on rumours, and pointed out that Spinetta has a mandate to remain head of Air France until the age of 70.
