Air Berlin surges on profit results and outlook; Aer Lingus reaches agreement with union.

Analysis

Air Berlin stocks had a cheery day on the Frankfurt exchange, ending up more than 15% above the previous close. The surge followed a strong - in the circumstances - financial result and a positive outlook, as average yields strengthened following capacity pruning and a generally more conservative growth plan.

Aer Lingus was the only other substantial mover, jumping 5.8% on news of a good agreement being reached with its cabin crew.

Selected European Carriers' share price growth: 27-Nov-08
